Kurşunlu Mosque is an Ottoman mosque in the Balıbey neighbourhood of Menteşe. It was built in 1493 upon the request of Esseyyid Şucâeddîn Bey, one of the Menteşe beys. Its architecture is characterised by classical Ottoman architecture. The mosque, which served as a madrasah with 30 classrooms before it was opened for use as a mosque, is now one of the places to be seen. In 1900, the last congregation place was added by Şerif Efendi and the minaret was built by Hacı İsmail in the same years.
The most important feature that distinguishes the Kurşunlu Mosque from other mosques is that its dome was covered with lead during the repair in 1853. Kurşunlu mosque has a history of 510 years. It has been repaired in many respects and has survived to the present day. The pencil ornaments inside the mosque were processed with root paints brought from Rhodes. The Kaaba and sailing ship paintings inside the mosque are worth seeing. The body walls built of smooth cut stone are characteristic of Seljuk Architecture. Kurşunlu Mosque is included in Evliya Çelebi's Travelogue.
It is an extremely valuable work built during the periods when the Ottomans dominated these lands.
